Beat Priority update |
||
Good Morning Coalville
Below is an overview of our beat priorities for the last 3 months -
You Said – You have said that there are issues surrounding drug dealing and associated ASB in and around Park Road and Forest Road Coalville
We Will - Officers completed a warrant on Park Road in line with our priority which was successful, with over 500 cannabis plants recovered. The occupant of the address was arrested and has been charged with drugs offences. Following information from partners, response officers have attended an address on Forest Road and have located a cannabis factory where 70 plants have been recovered. Our investigation continues to bring those responsible to justice. Whilst our investigation continues, the issues reported have ceased in relation to this. Through joint working practices with our partners we have been able to address concerns and take action on illegal drug production and distribution
You said - We have received numerous reports from the Belvoir Centre and local area relating to general anti social behaviour from young people who are meeting in large numbers at the shopping centre. This is causing issues to local security and also members of the public using the facilities within the centre
We Will - We are continuing to patrol this area and are working with partners to engage with local young people using our public spaces. We have continued to see pockets of anti social behaviour in the town centre and surrounding areas. We are working with partners to create an environment where local young people will have activities to enhance their skills and prevent ASB. This is a long term project but something we are invested in to make our town a safe and enjoyable place to be.
You Said - We have had issues associated with youths purchasing alcohol and vapes at local retailers raised to us. These being underage and illegally sold.
We Will - We have conducted further test purchase operations which have been completed at both licensed premises and also local shops. This has revealed that some establishments are still lacking in appropriate training. This has been addressed with both police enforcement and on-going work with licensing. We have continued to work with partners and are liaising with our own Licensing officers to ensure this is an issue we will continue to address. We are still experiencing issues relating to the anti-social behaviour and are committed to ensuring our local licensed premises are acting lawfully and making appropriate checks.
Regards
